Co-Enzyme Q10 can cause allergic reactions.

Ginkgo Biloba
What it is
Ginkgo Biloba is an extract derived from the leaves of the Ginkgo Biloba plant.

In addition, there is no proof showing that Ginseng, applied topically in the minuscule concentrations used in cosmetics, can cause cancer. However, women with breast, endometrial, and ovarian cancer, should talk to a doctor before using any products with ginseng, in particular supplements and oral treatments, just to be on the safe side.

Side effects
No allergies have been reported from use of green tea extract in skincare formulations.

Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium hyaluronate)
What it is
Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium hyaluronate) is a natural substance found in human connective tissue whose function is to cushion and lubricate.
What it does
Hyaluronic acid regulates the moisture balance of the skin. It has the highest capacity to hold water (can bind water up to 1000 times its volume) than any other substance known, and is effective in both high and low humidity conditions. This plums the skin and makes it appear smooth, reducing flaking, wrinkles and fine lines. In 2003, DDA approved it to to be injected under the skin. Hyaluronan injections temporarily smooth wrinkles by adding volume under the skin. The effects last about 6 months. It also stimulates hair growth.Hyaluronic Acid s invisible, not sticky and doesn’t obstruct the skins ability to breath.
Side effects
While Hyaluronic Acid has no side effect when applied topically, the same can’t be said for facial injections. These are painful because the hyaluronic acid gel that is injected doesn’t contain lidocaine, an anesthetic. In addition, there usually is temporary inflammation. This produces swelling and redness especially in the lip area. People who have been on any blood medication within the last five years should not inject this drug until the five year span is over.

L-Ascorbic Acid
What it is
L-ascorbic acid is a form of vitamin C.
What it does
L-Ascobic Acid has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The body’s production of collagen, which is essential for body growth, tissue repair and wound healing, decreases with aging and sun exposure. L-Ascorbic Acid stimulates the production of collagen and helps reduces wrinkles and fine lines. It is water-soluble and easily absorbed by skin; it can stay up for 72 hours. It strenghtens the capillaries and has a skin lightening effect on uneven skintone and pigmentation. It protects beta-carotene and Vitamin E from oxidation. It also inhibits melanin and reduces its oxidation.
Side effects
L-ascorbic acid stings slightly when applied and can be irritating. It is highly unstable and oxidize rapidly. In its oxidized form it promotes the formation of free radicals, causing damage to DNA and collagen.

Quercetin
What it is
Quercetin, a member of the flavonoid family, is found in citrus fruits, onions, apples and buckwheat.
What it does
Quercetin has strong antioxidants properties that help reduce oxidative stress and fight free radical damage, which is one of the main causes of wrinkles and fine lines. In addition, it has also anti-inflammatory properties.
Side effects
Quercetin is generally considered to be safe.

Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
What it is
Vitamin B2, also knows as Riboflavin, is a micronutrient required for several cellular processes like metabolism of fats and proteins, cell respiration and growth. Vitamin B2 can be found in leafy green vegetables, legumes, cheese, milk, mushrooms and liver.
What it does
When applied topically, Vitamin B2 is said to treat blemishes related to rosacea. It is also supposed to help heal wounds and burns. However, there aren’t any scientific studies supporting these claims.Riboflavin is bright and deep yellow in color and for this reason, it can be used as a coloring agent in cosmetic products.
